Sealing Treatment of EPS Cement Sandwich Panels

Jun 24, 2024Leave a message

Sealing treatment of EPS cement sandwich panels is crucial in construction, directly affecting the thermal insulation, waterproofing, and fireproofing performance of the walls. Proper sealing enhances the overall performance of the building and extends its service life.

Here are the common sealing treatment methods and steps for EPS cement sandwich panels:

1. Joint Sealing Treatment

Process Steps:

Clean the Joint Area: Before sealing, clean the joint area between panels to ensure it is free of dust, grease, and loose particles.

Fill with Sealing Material: Use specialized sealing materials (such as polyurethane sealant, silicone sealant) to fill the joints evenly. A sealing gun can be used to inject the material into the joints, ensuring full coverage.

Smooth the Sealing Material: Use a scraper or trowel to smooth the surface of the sealing material, ensuring a flat and neat joint.

Allow to Cure: The sealing material needs time to cure, typically within 24 hours. Avoid applying external force to the joints during this time to ensure complete curing.

Advantages: Effectively prevents air, moisture, and other external substances from entering the panels, enhancing the thermal insulation and waterproofing of the walls.

2. Surface Waterproof Treatment

Process Steps:

Select Waterproof Coating: Choose a suitable waterproof coating (such as polyurethane waterproof coating, acrylic waterproof coating) based on the specific needs and environmental conditions of the walls.

Apply Waterproof Coating: Use a roller or brush to apply the waterproof coating evenly on the surface of the panels, ensuring no areas are missed and the thickness is uniform. Typically, two to three layers are needed, with each layer applied after the previous one has fully dried.

Inspect and Repair: After application, inspect the waterproof layer for any missed spots or uneven areas and repair them promptly to ensure the waterproof effect.

Advantages: Provides additional waterproof protection, especially suitable for humid or rainy environments, extending the lifespan of the panels.

3. Edge Sealing Treatment

Process Steps:

Clean the Edges: Clean the edge areas of the panels to remove all dust and debris.

Apply Edge Sealing Tape: Use specialized sealing tape to seal the edge areas of the panels, ensuring the tape is tightly adhered without air bubbles.

Apply Sealing Material on Edges: Apply a layer of sealing material over the edge sealing tape to further enhance the sealing effect.

Advantages: Effectively prevents moisture and dust from infiltrating the edge areas, protecting the panel edges and enhancing overall sealing performance.

4. Internal Sealing Treatment

Process Steps:

Clean the Interior: Ensure the internal structure of the panels is free of dust and debris.

Fill with Foam Sealant: Fill the internal gaps of the panels with specialized foam sealant, ensuring every gap is effectively filled.

Seal the Interior: Use sealing materials to close the internal openings of the panels, ensuring effective internal sealing.

Advantages: Enhances the internal thermal insulation and soundproofing of the panels while improving structural stability.

By utilizing these various sealing treatment methods, EPS cement sandwich panels can achieve superior performance in construction applications, meeting modern building requirements for thermal insulation, waterproofing, and fireproofing, and enhancing overall building quality and longevity.
