What are the specific applications of EPS sandwich panels in building insulation?

EPS sandwich panels have a wide range of applications in building insulation, here are some specific applications and features:

External Wall Insulation: EPS sandwich panels are widely used in external wall insulation systems, which integrate wall insulation and decorative functions. These systems are characterized by good overall thermal insulation, low thermal conductivity, and other features. For example, a residential project in Mianyang, Sichuan Province, used an EPS external wall insulation system with a paint finish on the outside. The external wall insulation system consists of a base layer (wall) → insulation layer (EPS board) → protective layer (galvanized steel wire mesh) → finish layer (elastic paint).

Roof Insulation: EPS sandwich panels can also be used for roof insulation. By laying EPS panels on the roof, heat transfer can be effectively blocked, helping to maintain a stable indoor temperature.

Cast-in-Place Concrete External Insulation System: The EPS board cast-in-place concrete external insulation system uses cast-in-place concrete exterior walls as the base wall, with EPS boards as the insulation layer. The inner surface of the EPS board (the surface in contact with the cast-in-place concrete) has grooves, and both the inner and outer surfaces should be fully coated with interface mortar.

EPS Wire Mesh Panel Cast-in-Place Concrete External Insulation System: The EPS wire mesh panel cast-in-place concrete external insulation system uses cast-in-place concrete exterior walls as the base wall, with EPS wire mesh panels as the insulation layer. Each square meter of EPS wire mesh panel should have 100 slanted belly wires, all made of low-carbon hot-dip galvanized steel wire.

Glue Mortar EPS Board External Insulation System: This system consists of an interface mortar layer, a glue mortar EPS board layer, an EPS board insulation layer, another layer of glue mortar, a rendering layer, and a finish layer. EPS boards should be constructed on the base wall using glue mortar, with a gap width of 10mm between the EPS boards.

EPS Module Sandwich Insulation Cast-in-Place Concrete System: This method involves embedding EPS modules in a staggered manner into the wall steel mesh, fixing the module position with a connecting bridge, and then installing a galvanized steel welded wire mesh on the outer end head of the connecting bridge's prefabricated groove. By combining the inner and outer formwork of the wall using combination accessories, a two-cavity formwork combination that meets the structural wall thickness is formed, and self-compacting concrete is poured to create a composite wall that integrates insulation with the structure.

Physical Properties of EPS Foam Board: EPS sandwich panels have various physical properties, such as a density range of 10~45kg/m³, a thermal conductivity range of 0.024~0.041W/m.K, a maximum operating temperature of up to 95°C, and a non-combustible grade of A1 with a fire resistance effect of up to 180 minutes.

These applications demonstrate the versatility and effectiveness of EPS sandwich panels in building insulation, capable of meeting different building energy-saving requirements.
