What Is EPS Cement Sandwich Panel

Jul 31, 2023Leave a message

EPS Cement Sandwich Panel is a kind of lightweight energy-saving wall partition material, which uses cement and cement fiber board as the face panel and is filled with cement foam and EPS polystyrene foam particles in the center. Apart from comparing the product with Gypsum Board Partition; it can also be compared to a Masonry Concrete wall as it is cheaper, stronger and also eliminates the complete step of plastering or curing. Thus reducing building costs.

Sandwich Panel, also known as Extruded Polystyrene (EPS) Panel is a structural insulated panel used in the construction industry for creating partitions. It consists of a rigid Insulating layer sandwiched between two layers of board. The structural board of the EPS Cement Sandwich Panel can either be of Magnesium Oxide Board (MgO) or Cement Fiber Board. The rigid insulation core of the EPS Panel acts as a web, while the outer boards fulfill the function of the flanges. EPS Cement sandwich panels combine several components such as studs, joists, insulation, vapor and air barrier.

1.1. Sandwich panel uses

Sandwich panels are a highly versatile and innovative building material with a wide range of applications. They typically consist of two sheets of rigid material, such as metal or plastic, with a core insulation material sandwiched in between. This design allows sandwich panels to offer excellent thermal and acoustic protection, while the rigid sheets provide structural support and strength.

One of the primary and most common uses of sandwich panels is in the construction industry. Their exceptional insulation properties make them ideal for walls, roofs, and floors in both residential and commercial buildings. Additionally, sandwich panels are lightweight and easy to install, making them a popular choice for industrial buildings, including factories, warehouses, and cold storage facilities.

Beyond construction, sandwich panels find numerous applications in various other sectors. In manufacturing, they are widely used to create partitions and enclosures in production areas, ensuring efficient space utilization and organization. Moreover, the transportation industry benefits from sandwich panels in the construction of trailers and other vehicles, where their combination of durability and low weight is advantageous.

The renewable energy sector also relies on sandwich panels for solar panel manufacturing. These panels serve as frames and support structures for solar panels, offering insulation and protection against environmental factors.

In summary, sandwich panels are highly valued for their versatility and practicality in a wide range of industries. They provide superior insulation, are easy to install, and offer lightweight yet durable solutions. Whether for building construction, manufacturing, transportation, or renewable energy, sandwich panels will continue to play a crucial role in various applications for years to come.

1.2. How to join sandwich panels

1. Select the right adhesive: Adhesives are critical in joining sandwich panels, and it is essential to use the right type of adhesive for the material. Some of the commonly used adhesives are polyurethane, epoxy, and acrylic adhesives. Ensure that you select the right adhesive based on the specific application, material, and environmental conditions.

2. Prepare the surfaces: The surfaces to be bonded must be clean, dry, and free of any grease, oil, dust, or other contaminants. You can use a solvent or a degreaser to clean the surfaces. Also, ensure that the surfaces are roughened or sanded to create a good bonding surface for the adhesive.

3. Apply adhesive evenly: When applying adhesive, ensure that it is applied evenly and consistently across the surfaces to be bonded. You can use a roller or a brush to apply the adhesive uniformly. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the curing time and temperature for the adhesive.

4. Use clamps or fixtures: To ensure that the sandwich panels remain aligned and in place, use clamps or fixtures to hold them in position until the adhesive cures completely. This will prevent any movement or misalignment of the panels.
5. Check for quality: After the adhesive has cured, check the joint quality to ensure that it is strong and aesthetically pleasing. Any gaps or imperfections should be addressed immediately to prevent any future issues.

Construction steps for cement mortar

1.Construction materials are centrally placed, marked with compound lines, and the height of wall panels is uniformly cut and marked with bullet lines.

2.Assisted installation. Before installing the wall panels inside, PE rods and anti-vibration rubber pads need to be installed. Vertical joints and top joints are installed with extruded slurry, and the hooks and seams are processed so that no gaps can be left.

3. Wallboard measurement. Installed at any time at any time to test at any time to adjust, can not be moved at will after installation.

4. Grouting. Bottom grouting needs to be rinsed with water, grouting needs to be tight, filled, divided into two grouting.

5.Wooden wedge. Wooden wedges need to be installed in the wallboard a week before you can take out, can not be dismantled in advance.

6. Open water and electricity slots. According to the design and construction requirements, while minimizing damage to the wallboard, cutting slots, avoiding brute force construction.

7. Mortar repair. Use wallboard assembly mortar to fill the gaps and the area around the wallboard and the ground and the ceiling to fill in the gaps and the area around the wallboard and the ground and the ceiling to fill in the gaps and the area around the wallboard and the floor to level and repair tightly.

Masonry wall anti-cracking measures

1.Construction points. The main wall structure and wallboard joints need to be set up with penguins. The layout is reasonable in order to minimize the cutting board and eliminate the shaped wall construction connection.

2.Wallboard performance, drying shrinkage values need to meet the construction requirements.

3. Mortar performance requirements. Compressive strength ≥ C15, bond strength ≥ 0.7Mpa, flexibility ≥ 1.0mm.

4. Construction requirements. Wall panel vertical joints splicing joints extrusion installation, to ensure full slurry full seam. Wallboard bottom joints need to clean up the ground after grouting to ensure that the wallboard assembly mortar filled with slurry, bonded firmly. Between the various construction processes need to meet the installation requirements, can not disrupt other construction processes, utility slot installation needs to be accurately positioned. To prevent damage to the wallboard caused by large-area grooving, wallboard grooving requires the use of special tools, can not be chiseled by brute force.

5. After the completion of the construction of the wall, in a week can not collision, walkway wallboard, especially the sunny corner area to avoid wear and tear.

1.3. How to fix sandwich panel

lightweight partition wall plate with Φ6mm or Φ8mm steel bar to the middle of the lightweight partition wall plate at 45 degrees into the bottom with "7" type rebar one end into the concrete foundation, one end into the wall plate.

Step1 Setting line, and lift the wall panels and installation accessories to the location ready for install

Step2 Applying cement mortar, apply ZJT specific cement mortar to the floor and the groove of wall panel

Step3 Installation wall panel. Assemble the cement mortar filled wall panels into the right position, level from the bottom of the wallboard with a gauging trowel, make it tight, temporarily fixed with wooden wedges, using“L” type steel bar to reinforce the wall panel and floor or ceiling

Step4 Cutting, using a electric saw cut the size you needed, length 180*6mm steel bars are required to enter from the 45-degree

Step5 Correcting.Plane correction with a ruler

Step6 Grouting, filling up cement mortar

Step7 Sticking Anti-Crack Tape

Step8 Slotting and Wiring, setting lines on places needing to set with concealed wire and switch box, then cut a groove by the electric saw, filling with specific mortar after installation

Step9 Installation door frame and wall frame.Reserve enough space according to the size of the door and window, then install the wall panel

Step10 Decorating the wall surface directly by plaster, wallpaper, tiles and other painting

(If the height of the wall exceeds 6m, and the length of the wall exceeds 8m, the square bar, H bar or channel steel should be added correspondingly to strengthen the joint)
